Water by Women

As you may have heard, last summer, in collaboration with Niels van Weerdenburg, we started Artivist, a platform that combines art with the SDG goals. For goal 6 - clean drinking water & sanitation for everyone - art has been sold recently that is inspired by this subject. Thanks in part to the sale of various works of art, we are proud to announce that €15,000 has been donated to the Water by Women project in Nepal!

This project, initiated by Simavi, has a two-pronged approach: realizing access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and economic empowerment of women. In Nepal they call the project Udhyami, which means ‘entrepreneur’ in Nepali and that is exactly what the program is about: encouraging women to become entrepreneurs and in this way earn money for the well-being of their family.
